Sodium Gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, appearing as a white to off-white crystalline powder. It is highly soluble in water and exhibits excellent chelating, dispersing, and sequestrating properties, particularly for calcium, iron, and other metal ions.
In the construction industry, sodium gluconate is widely used as a high-performance set retarder and water-reducing admixture for concrete and cement-based systems. It improves workability, delays setting time in hot weather, and enhances surface finish without compromising strength.
